Her Story
In 1946, Captain Arthur Valentine RAN - finds an abandoned child on a train in London. All he knows is that she has a noble and Baltic background.
He raises her as his perfect Athenian Spartan daughter, naming her Violet for her unique eye colour. She enjoys an ideal life at Clifftops until she is sent to Boarding School aged 14; where she retreats into isolation. She is tempered in fire, bullied and alone. The perfect clay for a spy in the world of Cold war espionage.
At 16, her father dies under mysterious circumstances, almost certainly murdered, leaving Vee - as she now calls herself - to become a resilient, multilingual athlete and fighter. She also learns the art of charm and compassion.
On her 21st birthday, she survives a brutal beating at the hands of the KGB, seeking the information her Father left her. Urged on by her estranged and scandalous Aunt Diana and the even more mysterious Lord Balmoral, she joins the Australian Secret Intelligence Service (ASIS).
Vee, a charismatic and solitary loner, is the ideal asset with no emotional attachments. She trains at Swan Island and, upon completion of her training she is code-named Poison Ivy.
